Prosperity, Longevity, Good Fortune.

Shíliú, meaning pomegranate in the Chinese language, represents prosperity, longevity, and good fortune in both the Chinese and Armenian cultures, as well as cultures across the world. Evie and Celin hope that by wearing a unique yet distinguishable piece of Shíliú Jewellery you too will be prosperous and full of life.

Meet the Makers

My love for fine jewellery started when I was a little girl. I loved going through my grandmother’s jewellery box with her and listening to the stories she told me that was associated with each piece. To her, jewellery wasn’t just an accessory, it was a memory of key moments in her life. I remember these stories to this day and they inspire the creative process that goes on behind the scenes of our brand.

Meeting my dear friend Celin 10 years ago must have been fate calling. We share the same love for jewellery and design.  With her family’s experience in the jewellery industry for more than 50 years, the perfect partnership to create Shíliú was born.

As your Client Relationship Director and Co-Founder, I hope that our Shíliú pieces will bring you good fortune and wonderful memories of key moments in your life.

Yi-Wen

Born and raised in Melbourne, and as the daughter of parents who migrated to Australia in the early 70’s, it was not unusual to grow up in the family business. My late father started working in the jewellery industry as a teenager, and when he met my Mum in Melbourne in 1971, he continued his jewellery career with her by his side. As a family business, my brother Anthony and I worked with our parents, learning the trade along the way. As a family, we lived and breathed fine jewellery. This taught us to look after our loyal customers, to have exquisite workmanship, and to maintain the impeccable reputation our parents started.

After taking some time off retail Jewellery to pursue my own career, I really wanted to heed that spark that never died out. Jewellery is so unique. It dazzles. It makes a statement. It’s personal, and it reveals a piece of your personality or mood. I couldn’t think of a better way to share this passion than with my dear friend Yi-Wen, and my brother, who makes our designs. As your Design Director and Co-Founder, I hope that our pieces will represent your unique self that you will cherish forever.

Celin

Anthony is not only Celin’s older brother, but also our Jeweller here at Shíliú. He completed both of his Jewellery and Watchmaking apprenticeships here in Melbourne when he was 19-years-of-age, after choosing to follow in his father’s footsteps.

Learning the trade was a passion of his, and his craftsmanship truly shows in each piece he makes. His 21 years of experience as a fully qualified Jeweller and Watchmaker ensures that each piece is carefully considered and crafted to utmost perfection right here in Melbourne.
