Caring for your Shíliú Jewellery

At Shíliú Melbourne we recommend that you look after your precious pieces with care and attention by following these daily considerations, so that they are preserved as long as possible:

  1. Be sure to handle your jewellery with care. Remove your jewellery when washing your hands or using corrosive products that could permanently damage precious metal, stones, or pearls. It is also important not to expose your jewellery to chlorinated or salty water.

  2. We advise you to avoid exposing your jewellery to perfume, soap, or chemical or cosmetic products, which could affect the colour and natural appearances of the materials. We recommend that you wait until your perfume and cosmetics products are completely dry before wearing your Shíliú Jewellery.

  3. Take your regular activities into consideration when wearing your jewellery, including potential for impact.

  4. Keep your jewellery away from intense sources of heat and extreme temperature changes.

Some Measures of Precaution:

Be sure to regularly check that the clasp and safety catch, as well as the settings of the stones. If you have any concerns, you should not wear your piece of jewellery until you have had it evaluated by an expert at a Shíliú showroom.

Storing your Shíliú Jewellery:

Jewellery pieces can become scratched when coming into contact with one another. We recommend you store them individually in the Shíliú box or pouch that you received at the time of purchase.

Chains should be closed and laid flat so as to avoid their becoming tangled.

Be sure to avoid storing multiple pieces of jewellery together without separation, so as to avoid scratches.

Cleaning Your Shíliú Jewellery:

We recommend cleaning your Shíliú Jewellery delicately with a soft dry cloth at home or for you to bring it in to a Shíliú showroom for professional cleaning.

For white gold pieces, please be aware that white gold is coated with rhodium plating and will wear over time as a natural process. We suggest having your rhodium plated re-done every two years.
